GRAND LISBOA MACAU • MACAU • 2007

The Design of one of the world's largest integrated architectural light and video systems for the Grand Lisboa in Macau in 2007.

Magic Monkey was selected by the prestigious Hong Kong architectural firm DLN to conceive, design and specify a monumental communication solution for Dr Ho's new flagship casino, the Grand Lisboa in Macau, PRC. Magic Monkey integrated the architecture of the Lotus flower inspired architecture with thousands of individually controlled RGB LED pixels to create a gigantic architecturally integrated light & video installation. As the geometry of the glass facades evolved over the course of the 3 years of design, so did the placement of the pixels. The elegance and flexibility of the concept allowed for complete elasticity in regards to architectural design issues and client budgets.
